Dear Frisch off the Press’ Valued Reader,
Frisch off the Press aims to represent a 21st century publication. We stress the importance of accurate information, stellar moderation, and to cover not what we believe you need to know, but rather what you believe you need to know. However, as opposed to earlier styles of journalism, we provide our information in innovative fashion: through a website. We are proud of our uniqueness and provocative style. Why assume when you can question?
Frisch of the Press takes pride in having an extraordinarily talented yet not exclusive staff. Although we depend primarily upon staff writers, we look forward to receiving articles from anyone (as long as they attend/attended Frisch). We strongly feel that Frisch off the Press can only succeed as a community project with diverse participation. As long as the writing meets our standards of excellence, it does not matter whose name is attached to it. Every voice of wisdom should be heard, or in our case, read.
Frisch off the Press is a source of information for anyone associated with Frisch. Whether you are a student or a prospective student, a parent or a prospective parent, Frisch off the Press promises to provide you with accurate information about Frisch events, events that Frisch students participate in, and anything related to the Jewish community at large.
Frisch off the Press maintains a strict code of ethics and morality. Our integrity is of the utmost importance; for without it we have failed our readers and all that we stand for. In an age during which the internet is often taken advantage of to carelessly and rapidly post inaccurate information, we strive to publish only after careful and due moderation. However, as humans, we are prone to imperfection. If, in any way, we offend you, whether intentionally or unintentionally, we require your assistance in helping us correct our wrongdoing. If we are in the slightest bit factually incorrect in anything we publish, please bring it to our attention immediately. Remember, we are here for no reason other than to produce proper journalism for our readers.
In accordance with our promise of producing an ethical publication, Frisch off the Press preserves its right to employ the first amendment as an instrument with which to probe and question until we are satisfied. We will, of course, have a significant amount of unbiased and factual news which will be the top priority of our publication. However, we intend to facilitate our writers’ opinions through an appropriate process as well. In essence, we will have two distinct segments of our publication: news and opinion. We will make it abundantly clear which is which in every article published so that if you, our reader, prefer news, you may have news, but if you prefer a point of view, you may have our honest and reasonable opinion.
Last but certainly not least, Frisch off the Press is proud to thank everyone that made this project possible. From our unbelievable web designer, Yair Aviner, to our outstandingly helpful faculty advisor, Rabbi/Dr./Mr. Rosen, we could not do this without you. In addition, we would like to give gratitude to our writers, who we hope will be a source of light and wisdom, not only in journalism, but in any endeavor they pursue for generations to come. That is our promise to them. Also, we will never forget the donors who gazed upon what at the time was just a small idea with hope and prescience, and who strongly supported us in our own endeavor. Anyone that helps our site will forever be remembered as a family member of Frisch off the Press.
