Israel Schools Present to Prospective Students

On Wednesday night, November 18th, seniors from different yeshivas around the tri-statearea came to Frisch for its annual Israel Night.  Students came from schools such as Frisch, TABC, Kushner, and Ma’ayanot.  On Israel night, various Israel schools come to Frisch to present their school toprospective students.

The night was split up into five sections.  First, the students and their parents were divided up by high school, and given a short introduction by their principal.  This allowed everyone to hear their own school’s point of view, and what their particular school believes people should take into consideration while looking at the various yeshivot.

“It was extremely helpful that Dr. Stein spoke to us, because he told us what we should be looking at when we sit in on the sessions,” said Zach Goldschmidt (‘10).

Next, there were three twenty five minute periods in which the schools presented their programs.  Students were instructed to choose their three top schools, and bring their parents to the presentations to learn more about the options. The schools gave a short presentation, and then opened the floor for questions.

“Having my parents see where I am thinking of going was very important because they play a big part in deciding where I am going to go next year,” Said Dana Gorovici (‘10).

Finally, there was a twenty five minute free-period where everyone was given an opportunity to walk around to the various schools tables to ask questions. This gavepeople a chance to look at the other schools that did not fit into their top three choices.   The night ended with Maariv in the Beit Knesset.

“Israel night was a huge success this year, and I think it benefitted the students tremendously” said Rabbi Blau, a Frisch Israel Guidance Counselor.
