Cougars Put a Little Pep in Their Step
This Thursday, December 3rd, Frisch held its annual pep rally during tenth and eleventh period. The response of the student body was overwhelming. All of the students came to school dressed in Frisch apparel and decorated the building in the school colors. The students had been waiting for a pep rally for the past two years and were ecstatic that this year one of their favorite events would be returning to Frisch. The pep rally is a great way for the students to create achdoot (togetherness) and to show how much they appreciate the school. As Rabbi Ciner said: “put a little pep in your step.”
The pep rally began as soon as Mincha ended. Together, the student council and administration put together a great program beginning with a hilarious student-made video, a game of musical chairs, and a dance competition against president Chagi Chessir. The student council then called down all twins in the school for a boy versus girl “twin elimination game.”
The traditional Rabbis-against-students basketball game was the final activity of the evening. The entire room pulsated with excitement as the music pounded and shot after shot was made. In the bleachers, the wave was attempted several times and the cheering was consistent. With a final score of 16 to 2, the boy’s varsity team took home the title as the pep rally 09’ champions.
The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and was a great example of the unique ruach of the students in Frisch. Leora Margelovich (10’) considered the rally as a sort of “mini Shiriyah.” The pep rally was a huge success, and we can only hope for more exciting events to come.
