Frisch in Disguise
On Monday, March 1st, Frisch held its annual Shushan Purim Chagigah, Frisch in Disguise. After breakfast, students clad in hilarious and creative costumes assembled in the auditorium. The celebration began with a showing of the senior Shiriyah video. Next, the rabbis performed a skit accompanied by short videos.
Following the video presentations, Rabbi Wald, dressed as Elvis, hosted an adapted version of the game show “Let’s Make a Deal.” Several students were called up to the stage and asked to choose one of three boxes, each containing a hidden prize. The prizes ranged from a gift certificate to iTunes to a box of straws.
Following the game show, students were called up from each grade and given an opportunity to showcase their costumes. Costumes included Willy Wonka, Avatar, and “pigs in a blanket.” This year’s winner was a group of junior boys dressed up as sophomores.
After the contest, the auditorium was cleared of chairs and dancing ensued. There was much enthusiasm as the students came together as a school to celebrate Purim. The chagigah concluded with a feast of ice cream and toppings in the cafeteria. Although students were sad to return to their classrooms, a boisterous mood continued for the remainder of the day.
