Yael Fishel (‘12), a defender on the girls’ varsity soccer team, has been a key player on the squad since making the team freshman year. On Tuesday night, Fishel played an excellent game as the undefeated Frisch varsity team defeated the previously undefeated Kushner team. While on the court for a majority of the game, Fishel made several phenomenal plays, including several goal blocking defensive tackles. Despite getting pushed, shoved and constantly thrown to the floor by Frisch’s aggressive opponents, Fishel persevered. Fishel’s skills and endurance, along with her superb attitude, enabled her to contribute tremendously to the Frisch team’s 7-1 victory. Fishel commented on the team’s recent win, “It was a team effort. After all, it is the name on the front of the jersey - not the back - that counts.”
