Why are Jews Liberal?: a book and a Frisch student's reaction.

For centuries, historians have debated the importance and practicality of learning and analyzing past events. One thing that has generally been agreed upon however is that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. This is because historical events recur over indefinite periods of time, thinly disguised by circumstantial differences. Often, current events are similar to events described in our history books, and thus historians have derived from these recurrences various lessons. For a Jew, the study of history has unique importance for it bears witness to our people and our faith.




“AP” is a buzzword at a highly competitive high school like Frisch. Most juniors and seniors are constantly discussing which AP courses they will be taking and how they are preparing for the test in May. But are AP courses worth the time, effort, and high stress they inevitably entail? Are these classes worthwhile if they just amount to a statistic?
On Tuesday September 15th I went with my father to attend the Orthodox Union’s annual lobbying mission to Washington. The trip provided me with an inside look into the mechanisms of Washington political lobbying – and now I’d like to share that insight with you.
