Investigating the Archives in Jorvik
The quest begins by meeting with Ljufvina to review gathered evidence and plan the next move. To uncover the true identity of The Vault, Eivor must head to Jorvik's archives to search for hidden clues left behind by the conspirators. Inside the archives, interact with the various documents and inspect the secret room to discover that a large shipment of wine has been tampered with and poisoned.
Attending the Yuletide Feast and Unmasking The Vault
After gathering evidence at the archives, players must proceed to the Yuletide feast at the Jorvik Theatre to confront the suspects. During the event, Eivor can speak with the council members—Ricsige, Faravid, Hjorr, and Audun—to observe their reactions regarding the wine. Paying close attention to the dialogue reveals that Audun is the only one who ordered the wine and refused to drink it, making Audun the true identity of The Vault.
Accusation Outcomes and Dealing with Audun
When you report back to Ljufvina, you will be prompted to formally accuse one of the council members. Choosing Audun is the correct deduction, but even if you pick another suspect, Audun will ultimately reveal himself after the poisoned wine is served. Once the scene breaks into chaos, eliminate the guards and eliminate Audun to put an end to his scheme and fulfill the quest objective.
Post-Quest Decisions and Silver Distribution
Following the assassination of Audun, regroup with Ljufvina and report back to Ricsige at the Royal Hall to conclude the operation. During this final conversation, Eivor will decide what to do with the stolen silver recovered from the Order's operations. You can choose to give the silver to the local merchants or use it to fund Halfdan's war effort, though returning it to the merchants is considered the most honorable choice.
